Why are Stars Important?
I don’t know about you but when I do a search on Google, I immediately look at the number of stars. Three stars and I am moving on down the line. Four stars and I am thinking and weighing the odds. Five stars and I am a happy future customer. Why is that? Because the best piece of mind for me is the reviews of hundreds, sometimes thousands, of other people looking for the same thing.
A Good Name
At Clearcut, we take the opinions of our clients seriously. A wise Proverb says, “A good name is more desirable than great riches; to be esteemed is better than silver or gold.” Recently while doing marketing research, I decided to search our own company to see what came up. Low and behold, there was a 4-star review with no additional feedback. Who was this client that could not give us 5 stars and why hadn’t we been contacted? It didn’t take long to realize that it was not a previous client. We had been hacked. My son innocently said “Well, you should leave it because 4-stars isn’t bad.” I stared at him with a side glance and went on to explain why I would NOT just leave it there.
Leave it All on the Court
We are not perfect, and things will not always go the way we intend for them to. However, our goal is to provide our clients with every bit of knowledge and experience that we have in our arsenal. We give it all we’ve got and leave nothing on the court so to speak. We are a basketball loving family. All of my boys play. It never fails, one thing that is said after a game is “I should have…..”. We’ve gotten to the point that we remind them before the games even begin to leave nothing on the court. They are to give the game the best they can with no regrets. That is also how we view our projects. Pour our minds and efforts into the project the best that we can and hold nothing back.
Trust and Confidence
Why do stars matter? Sure, customer satisfaction is smart business. However, it is much more than that. We enjoy establishing long term working relationships with our clients. Many times we are called years after completing a project because our clients are ready to complete another renovation. Even when we are swamped, we do whatever we can to make it work. There is something about the trust that these returning clients have in us that spurs us on to do even more for them. It is also great when our previous clients are able to speak with current homeowners we are working with. Some have spent extended periods of time talking to them on the phone. Others have invited them to see the quality of work of their finished project. Those acts of confidence and kindness speak much louder than 5-Stars and any social media ad ever could.
